I was brought up and lived in the same community with people who survived buchenwald. but nowhere in the books that I read and in the stories that I heard was the description of the treatment of the prisoners life in the death/concentration/torture camps so detailed to the last item of their food; sleep; work etc. this book filled all the gaps that so often are left unexplained in other books. there were times I had to stop reading. it was getting too much to bear. I am happy I bought this book and read it to the end. I whole heartedly recommend this book to anyone who is interested to know the everyday life of the prisoners in birkenau during ww2. although it is only from 1942 to 1945; it gives more than enough detail of the life there.0 of 0 people found the following review helpful.
