Description

revised and updated edition/“... a key resource in English for any serious assessment of the Palestinian–Israeli conflict.”--Publishers Weekly (starred review)/One must understand Hamas in order to understand the current state of the Israeli--Palestinian conflict. Hamas: A History from Within provides an unrivaled account of Hamas s history; structure; and objectives; largely in its own words. A grassroots organization that commands wide respect among Palestinians for its incorruptibility; Hamas is divided into two main sections: one is responsible for establishing schools; hospitals; and religious institutions; the other for military action and terror attacks carried out by its armed underground wing the Izzedine al-Qassam Brigades. Tamimi s longtime relationships and extensive interviews with Hamas s leading members allow him to create a more intimate portrait of Hamas; in its own words and from its own members; than has yet been available in English.

The Osteo Standards"Bible"By Shannon AlexandraThis was the only standards book I used throughout my anthropology undergrad career and during post-graduation field work. It is well organized; informative and easy to use. While I do wish there was more information on pathology included in the text; this is the most extensive standards book you are likely to find.2 of 2 people found the following review helpful. Standard book is great as with the shipping of the book.By Physical TherapyThis book gives the forms you will be using as with the information you will need to put on the forms and with detail to why and where. It is black and white print no colors to the pictures; but gives great examples to what you're needing to look for on a bone to identify what trauma; pathology or taphonomy you may have when your in your field work.Plus many other great up-to-date information.5 of 5 people found the following review helpful. Definitely the "the standards" for skeletal analysisBy A CustomerThis little spiral bound book goes to the lab with me everyday. Buikstra and Ubelaker have combined information from multiple authors to explain the procedures of analyzing human skeletal remains. The forms in the back of the book are the standard forms for skeletal inventory and analysis used in labs througout the country. This book will satisfy both a beginner; and an advanced scientist; however may be difficult for some beginners to understand without some knowledge of osteology. Anyone going into forensic anthropology or bioarchaeology will need this book!
