Douglas Kenyon En su libro La historia prohibida; el escritor y editor J. HallmarkVery interesting read about not just the B-29 bomber itself and its tremendous effectiveness on Japan in the war; but great insight about the incredible fast paced planning and decision making that characterized its rapid entry into the war. General Curtis Lemay was the key man at the center of all of that and there is no one better qualified to tell the story than him. Co-author Bill Yenne did a fine job working with General Lemay explaining the first concepts and later development of the strategic bombing concept; including the key pioneering men involved; such as general Billy Mitchell. They also explain the role of the politics of the era that had to be dealt with. Also apparent is the appreciation for all the folks that made it happen on the home front in the production factories. It was an era of unmatched design creativity; cooperation; coordination; and decisiveness that could accomplish projects in a matter of months rather than years as is now the norm. I got the kindle version and the illustrations could be expanded. It was very fast read and well worth it. I have always been fascinated with B-29s; having lived just a few miles from a facility where the B-29 Fifi was in hanger and having met Colonel Paul Tibbets before his passing.0 of 0 people found the following review helpful. A well-written; fascinating bookBy Alan C. PaulsonThis is a well-written; fascinating book. I do; however; wish it had more about the construction and upgrade process; as well as the effort based out of China.0 of 0 people found the following review helpful. ... one ranks right up there as one of the best if not the bestBy William V.
