But this one is the most moving by far. For the first time ever; I have read a book that is told entirely from the point of view of those who served. It gives the reader a very rare insight to what the war meant to the brave soldiers who fought and died in the war that saved our nation and ended slavery. Anyone who has watched Band of Brothers will enjoy reading this book! Many thanks to William Beaudot for taking the time to research and write this.4 of 4 people found the following review helpful. Reader from Shawnee OklahomaBy A CustomerHow much more interesting and informative to read a history book which includes everyday folks and not just the well known leaders and heroes! This book is well written; easy to read and could easily interest even those who are not Civil War buffs or who don't even like history. It will be most helpful to genealogists as well. One of the better Civil War unit books I've ever read. I kept forgetting I was reading a history book! Also; it's about time the story of the 24th Wisconsin; a forgotten regiment; was told.0 of 0 people found the following review helpful. Five StarsBy Curtis Ackeretvery good
