I guess I expected more sociological stuff; like how they lived; everyday type of things; the nitty-gritty of everyday life. Many of the accounts related are of the 'Blood and Thunder' variety written in the 1800's . I lucked in to a copy of Snelgrave's book ; the Frank Cass edition of 1971 . Which is a really fine read ; to add ; if a copy comes your way . Is alright for light reading ; but not up to 'research' standards . Recommended with this reservation ; Lee .
