The Buddha: A Beginner's Guide (Beginner's Guides)

DOC The Buddha: A Beginner's Guide (Beginner's Guides) by John S. Strong in History

Description

Lodged between the unforgettable horrors of World War II and the cultural upheaval of Vietnam; the Korean conflict often fades by comparison. Yet; as recent events in North Korea prove; the effects of the war linger still. This tribute to those who fought -- written by a participant -- blends personal reminiscences and photographs to create a graphic impression of what went on. The information here covers the opposing armies; unique employment of the United Nations Command; use of helicopters in battle; Chinese attack and spring offensive; presidential citations; life in the line; patrolling; propaganda; and prisoners of war.

I took a Buddhist class to get my credit and I fell in love with itBy LoriaunaHaving thought I knew all there was to know about Buddhism; I was so wrong!!I took a Buddhist class to get my credit and I fell in love with it. What a great book to teach you all you thought you knew;but did not. It goes from the history of Buddhism to what truly happened to all of the Buddhas. Amazing book.0 of 0 people found the following review helpful. InsightfulBy KatieSuch a fantastic read! Really enjoyed learning more; and used this book for a college class.1 of 1 people found the following review helpful. No page numbers!By CustomerThere is absolutly nothing wrong with the text; it is a fairly typical college text book. I got this on kindle and was dissapointed not to find page numbers. How can I cite the location of a quote without page numbers. Even following along with the readings was difficult as it was assigned using page numbers. If you want to learn about Buddha this is fine but if your getting it for college; I suggest a different format.
