PDF The Complete Works of Flavius Josephus by translation by William Whiston in History

Description

During World War II; the all Puerto Rican 65th Infantry Regiment had been broken up with its three battalions relegated to backwater assignments where combat was unlikely. Still smarting fromm this slight; the 65th regained a measure of respect when it soundly defeated the veteran 3rd Infantry Division during postwar maneuvers.

I did however appreciate this e book version for studying the times in which parts of the Bible were lived so I could have historical perspective on the time when Jesus and the Apostles lived in Judea.1 of 1 people found the following review helpful. The rest of the glorious storyBy John M MartischJosephus tells of the history of the Jewish wars that the Bible doesn't. The behind-the-scenes story of the torment of the Israeli people. A very informative; descriptive; history of God's chosen people. The book was not difficult to read; but the amount of detail was quite intense to follow. I found myself taking notes in order to follow name's and places described by Josephus. To add to the research; this time period had many people with the same name. I was truly impressed with Josephus' s description of how Titus' s Roman army moved with men leading it to build roads and the order in which they marched. When Josephus describes the attack on Jerusalem I found the book hard to put down. The death and lack of respect for human life pained my heart. I would have given the book five stars if it wasn't for the amount of resource I looked up just to stay knowledgeable with where these city's we're and who exactly I was reading about. This book took me four month's to read.0 of 0 people found the following review helpful. My eyes are not as good as they were and the option of having Kindle read it to me was great! I like reading it while hearing it being read; more of my senses are in use that way. I enjoy my Kindle because I can have my bookshelf in my hand and not have to get up and go pull out a book.
