The papers of James R. Walker; physician to the Pine Ridge Sioux from 1896 to 1914; are noted for the information they have yielded about Lakota life and culture. JonesThe journey portrayed in these Journals is unbelieveable by todays standards. Makes you want to go see some of theses locations (and we have). The editing and footnotes with these Journals make them the Lewis and Clark Journals to own. If you like this type of history; these are must own Journals.
