Description

This book brings together twelve studies that collectively provide an overview of the main issues of live interest in Scottish witchcraft. As well as fresh studies of the well-established topic of witch-hunting; the book also launches an exploration of some of the more esoteric aspects of magical belief and practice.

The information is clearly bias as to what the authors want you to learn from this book; and it's filled with pointless historical stories and POVs that detract from learning. Also what irked me was that all the sections are grouped together by subject content so that it's not in chronological order; which is really frustrating when you're trying to write a paper about events that occurred during a certain time and find out you have to scan the whole thing again and flip back and forth to put cohesive bits together.0 of 0 people found the following review helpful. Excellent photosBy DenmarkTGIf I was taking a history course; this would be terrific. But very slow unfortunately; although very informative. Its quite long as well. If you are a reader of detailed history books this might be up your alley. But for me; I prefer more storytelling. Excellent pictures though.1 of 1 people found the following review helpful. Serves the purposeBy royalheirI purchased this book for my American History class. There are a lot of old English words that are in the book; so I had to keep a dictionary handy as well as Google some of them. I'm not a big history fan; so I can only say it is serving its purpose of presenting the information I need for this class. I purchased a used one and the pages are not torn or anything; however; there are a lot of markings in the book. I would not have mind the markings except some of them are marked with a ballpoint pen and words are striked through instead of underlined. There were also some chinese markings written in above some of the words; but I am managing and I saved lots of money by buying used.
