Southern Bronze is an in-depth history of Garden's (S.C.) Battery during the Civil War. The unit; from Sumter; South Carolina; took part in all the major campaigns of the Army of Northern Virginia. They were the last off the field at Shaprsburg; farthest to advance at Gettysburg; fought one of the last engagements of the war on April 8; 1865; and was one of the largest artillery companies to lay down their arms at Appomattox.
