Mr. Lang's writing style is lively with excellent descriptions. My interest is due to my great-great grandfather having served in the 123rd; as did the author's. Anyone interested in the Civil War or even just a good slice of history will enjoy this book.2 of 3 people found the following review helpful. An extremely personal connectionBy Matthew A. HolzmanMy great-great-grandfather George F. Siemon served in Company E of this regiment. So; I am very appreciative of this book! It is pretty much the only major work and history I have seen on my ancestor's unit.
