Unlike some other reproductions of classic texts (1) We have not used OCR(Optical Character Recognition); as this leads to bad quality books with introduced typos. (2) In books where there are images such as portraits; maps; sketches etc We have endeavoured to keep the quality of these images; so they represent accurately the original artefact. Although occasionally there may be certain imperfections with these old texts; we feel they deserve to be made available for future generations to enjoy.

Pretty good; for a textbookBy Alex LoriaI rented this book for my Humanities 201 class; and I thought that it was gonna be the exact same as most other textbooks: boringly written in boring style with boringly boring boredom printed everywhere. This one isn't like that! It's hard to make a textbook on history interesting but the author of this book sure gave it a shot and it turned out pretty well. Instead of just listing events it talks more about how cultures and civilizations influenced each other across the globe and through the years. It is much easier to learn about humanity when you're focussing on the bigger picture; not looking at the little pieces with scrutiny. There are excerpts from historical texts to add a sense of authenticity to the lessons; and the online resources are actually very helpful as well.I know that if you're getting this for a college class you probably don't have a choice on what book to buy; but if you're assigned this one then it won't be bad at all!0 of 0 people found the following review helpful.
