It is amazing what the explorers went through and how hard life was. I gained a lot of insight about the life of Native Americans. I knew they were not treated well but I didn't know how badly until I read this book. They certainly put up with a lot. There is a lot of original source material in this book.0 of 0 people found the following review helpful. Some Interesting Specific HistoriesBy Andrew GlynnThose looking for more of an overview of who and what the early Jesuits were might be disappointed; but if you're familiar with the general outlines; this gives some specific histories that are interesting both in how individuals expressed and diverged from the overall tenor of the order.1 of 1 people found the following review helpful. Excellent bookBy ramyI am still reading the book; but it is great; those who are interested in Christian religion will enjoy it.
