Beautiful writing.1 of 2 people found the following review helpful. A sad; sad story...By cherlis@aol.comTerribly; terribly sad. The lamp becomes the framework; the stage for this story. There is the feeling of coming full circle; and of defeat; resignation. There is a certain desperation in the story that is depressing and overwhelming. Not an enjoyable read; but an engrossing one.
