audiobook The Life and Revelations of Anne Catherine Emmerich (2-Volume Set) by K. E. Schmoger in History

Description

Tom Crean was a key figure and colorful member of three of the most famous polar expeditions and has had a glacier and a peak named after him. ·Will appeal to Shackleton buffs and fans of historical explorations ·Great for armchair adventurers who enjoy a ripping good yarn ·Popularity of this subject will stay fueled by media attention to big-budget television mini-series (AE) and big- screen movie (Columbia Pictures) currently in the works After this engaging; well-written biography sold more than 18;000 copies in Ireland in its first year; The Mountaineers Books jumped on the U.S. rights for its customers. Tom Crean was with Ernest Shackleton on the famous Endurance trip-and was one of the survivors of that phenomenal tale of; well; endurance. He was also on Robert Scott's two earlier polar explorations and he was key to the survival of his fellow explorers each time out. What is engaging about Crean--and this book--was that he was not unmoved by the hard decisions and hardships he and the rest of the crew faced; nor did he blindly follow orders; but he did what had to be done; and was loyal to his captains and his crewmates in the process. The story of all three adventures of incredible courage and survival are told in this one 352-page volume.

( I know she is not a saint yet; but she is a "Blessed" so she soon will be) They were both inspiring and fascinating. In fact; I can honestly say that Anne Catherine Emmerich is the most fascinating female saint that I have ever read about ( and I have read about dozens). This woman began having visions of the life of Christ from the time she was a small child. She also would make wreaths for the saints for their feast days and the saints would appear to her and take them from her hand. As an adult; she lived only on the Eucharist and was forced to stay in a hospital for a period of time to prove it. She had the stigmata. She would be handed a relic of saint and would not know what saint it was. While holding the relic she would immediately know whose it was and she would see many things about that saint's life. The things that she saw about the lives of several saints are in Volume 2. I love that part of the book because I am reading astounding things about saints that are not published anywhere else. We know many of the stories of their lives; but the things she sees fills in details that we don't know. Also; these 2 books are what gave me an appreciation and respect for the super natural power given to priests. They also helped me to cope with my sufferings better because ACE suffered most of her life and offered all for the sake of souls. Anyone who likes reading about the lives of the saints; especially saints who were also mystics; will enjoy reading about Anne Catherine Emmerich.3 of 3 people found the following review helpful. Marvelous and Revealing Life and PropheciesBy Jesse JrReally a treasure of prophecies that even the most dissolute of readers will find rewarding; The life story of this humble; suffering soul will astound you.She was given accurate; insightful views of the decline and troubles within the Traditional Catholic Church (the takeover of the novus ordo). She went so far as to say "the angels nor the saints will participate in it's construction"...Other visions include her frequent demonstrative descriptions of purgatory and how baneful the sufferings of those confined there for centuries even; She also describes how each of us that enters heaven will be greeted by others of the very same profession; doctors by doctors; teachers by teachers; etc.She describes how the Muslims will succeed all the way to the western borders of Germany before they are met by the Great French Monarch Henry who will defeat them and drive them all the way back to the far east and completely destroy Islam out of the world. She goes on to then describe the "Pope all dressed in red" and how she can hardly wait until such a time comes. She reveals her time at the convent and how she was left there all alone all through a cold winter. Her life was documented by Clement Bretano who commented "Everything I have ever known or seen in this earthly life pales in comparison to the sufferings and humility of this chosen soul"......You will not be disappointed if you buy this two volume set. Not only will they provide you solace and warmth through the years to come but give you the warnings and information you need to know to distinguish truth from falsehoods. I recommend you also find and buy the Jahenny Cures at 1-909-841-8052 (Pat) ..You will need both these books and the cures. Review of Writings of Anne Catherine EmmerickBy Jean M. KirbyThis is a tremendous book if one believes in the authenticity and sanctity of Catherine Emmerick as I do. Each of the saints and holy people to whom God; who is present with His People until the end of time; gives messages to for all mankind; to each one is given a different glimpse or facet into the greatness and the love of God. This set of two volumes is the most complete that I have found available to the average person concerning Catherine Emmerick. She has been given glimpses of the supernatural unlike that given to any other person; details into the lives of Our Lord and other holy persons. Catherine recognizes relics of holy persons without being informed of whom is the saint and confirms the great glory of those who have served the Lord. She practices charitable works in her visions and God rewards her because her charity is her desire not the deeds actually accomplished. What makes me believe in her most is her holy life in which she always sought truth; which has been investigated into by the Church and found worthy of belief. She was given visions into the struggle within Christ's Church today: A holy Church wherein God is present and also side-by-side; a false church built purely on human foundations; no saints are taking part in it. She gives details unimaginable in the 1800s of what all God's people are going through now; of Satan trying to destroy His Church; of the victory of God's people and how it is accomplished. Not all these things will be fully understood now; but seeing all is foretold is God's Plan to encourage and give hope to His people. I do not read this book from beginning to end; that would be difficult; but I take it up and read parts at random where there is tremendous richness in her words. I recommend this book if one desires to know more about Catherine Emmerick; especially if one has read the Dolores Passions of Our Lord or the Life of Our Blessed Mother as seen by Catherine and wants to know more of this tremendous persons favored by God with words for you.
