The Martin Luther King Assassination

ebooks The Martin Luther King Assassination by Philip H. Melanson in History

Description

Written as a favor for a friend; this little work is a wonderful explanation of the Christian faith: a true catechism from which; throughout the history of the church; other catechisms have drawn and learned. Augustine first works his way through the creed and then the Lords Prayer as recorded by Matthew; ending with the sacraments. This is a colossal work in one small volume.

One of the best MLK assassination booksBy TLRThe much-missed Philip Melanson produced one of the best books on the MLK assassination (this is essentially a reissue of 1989's THE MURKIN CONSPIRACY; with the addition of one new chapter). He did a great deal of original research; and conducted many interviews (including James Earl Ray himself). An honest reader is forced to conclude that there was a conspiracy involving elements both inside and outside the government; and one is left with strong doubts that Ray was even the shooter.3 of 3 people found the following review helpful. Long lost leads and little known factsBy Retired GuyAfter all this time; one would think there is little more to learn about the death of MLK. You would be wrong.Melanson; a respected researcher and college professor who passed away two years ago; brings his research skills to bear on many of the loose ends of MLK's death; chasing down cold leads and trails that were abandoned years ago. To anyone familiar with the case; Melanson's efforts to chase down cold leads on the Canadian side of things won't be disappointed. Melanson actually follows the trails long cold and still comes up with interesting interviews and questions. Any one unfamiliar with the cold case and the evidence will find this book compelling. To those new to the assasination; you will wonder why this material wasn't followed up at the time. Melanson has left a legacy of work on JFK; RFK; and MLK that will stand the test of time.9 of 9 people found the following review helpful. If you read no other book on the assassination of MLK read this one.By Dawn MeredithI cannot believe there are no reviews for this book.Today is not a good day for me to review any of Phil's wonderful books; he just died. But that said; if you like a really well-written "who done it?" read this.I read it several years ago when it was first published and read many parts of it aloud to my husband Erick. It's that good. I could not put it down; even in the car (No; I was not driving).Like with the murder of JFK- there was much mystery surrounding the 4/4/68 murder of Dr. Martin Luther King. Unlike JFK however there has not been a lot written on this case. This is a great place to begin your study. In 1994 James Earl Ray had a chance; during the hotly contested mini trial in Memphis presided over by Judge Joe Brown. Until Brown was removed. If Ray was the killer; why not have a full hearing? Why remove the judge?Because like LHO; Ray did not kill MLK. Another "patsy".Don't take my word for it; read Dr. Phil Melanson's meticulously researched book. Then support recently introduced legislation into this unsolved murder.Take back America folks; soon it will be too late.Dawn MeredithAustin; Tx.
