It's very insightful and if you're looking to learn a little history about Jamaican and its people; get this book.9 of 9 people found the following review helpful. Outstanding ReadBy HarrietKarla Gottlieb has done us all a service by carefully researching Queen Nanny; often an obscure figure in history. The fact that this woman warrior; Queen Nanny; outthought; outwitted; and outfoxed the heavily militaristic Spanish and British males who desired her death is amazing. This female resistance leader is one who should be known by all interested in the truth of history.
