1 of 1 people found the following review helpful. Top Chinese scholar and a leader for women in the Sangha worldwide; wonderful book and informativeBy Ven. Hong YangDr. Venerable Yifa's scholarship is excellent. I am enjoying her book. She has a formal style of writing that is very clear and easy to read. Her scholarship is very thorough. It's made for those who are interested in Chinese history and the Chinese Sangha. I am highly recommending her book to other Sangha who seek to study their history; particularly those with an interest in Chinese Buddhism which is the oldest form of Buddhism unbroken in the World today. And it's the oldest Buddhist practice in the USA! This year it's 162 years old here in the great old USA!
