Introduction was great and delivered the atmosphere in Nazi Germany. The Lone Assassin chapter felt more like a thriller than an academic history book and the Final Showdown gave a sad but great ending to the story.I also enjoyed the discussion in the end; especially the last chapter which organized the stories that came before.I did miss a preface (or a "How To Read This Book") chapter; that would outline what's about to come. Also some details I missed while reading were the size and influence of the resistance. At some points I couldn't escape the impression that it's a small group of friends discussing imaginary plans over dinner. Perhaps some numbers (like total number of people in the network during the years) could be interesting; if this data is available. All in all It's a great book even if you're not a WW2 fan2 of 2 people found the following review helpful. Intriguing study.By Robert MerrillVery intriguing. I didn't realize so many people actively opposed the Nazis; not just passively. Good; thorough scholarship. Perhaps a bit detailed in the machinations of the various groups; but a nice view into the different social classes that were overwhelmed by the upheavals in German society.0 of 0 people found the following review helpful.
