Remembering (Korea: 1950-1953) is the author's memoir. This book describes his involvement in Korea during the Korean War and points out the reasoning behind the conflict. Over the years; the Korean War has been considered "The Forgotten War" by many. At one time; President Harry S. Truman referred to it as a "Police Action;" but 5;720;000 Americans who served in Korean have never forgotten what it was about and that it was much more than just a "Police Action." They understand that it was an all-out war; and one of the bloodiest in American history. It involved over 20 countries of the United Nations that joined with the United States to save the South Koreans from annihilation and the tyranny of the communist countries; such as Russia and North Korea. On July 27; 1953; an armistice was signed and today South Korea remains as a free nation and one of the strongest and wealthiest countries in Asia. This book is to help Americans understand what the war was all about and describe one soldier's experience and opinion of the conflict. About the AuthorDennis J Ottley was born on January 28; 1932 in Salt Lake City; Utah. He lived in many different towns throughout his childhood; but his family finally settled in Evanston; Wyoming. He quit high school at the start of his senior year and joined the 141st Tank Battalion of the Wyoming National Guard. About the same time he met a girl who he became very serious about and married on July 26; 1950. When the Korean War started; Dennis' guard unit was activated in September of 1950. In July 1951 Dennis was selected for overseas duty and was sent to Korea to help form a new tank company. After serving almost ten months in Korea as a tank gunner and tank commander; he was discharged on May 29; 1952. Upon arriving home in Evanston; he immediately went back to work to make a new life for himself and his family. After a few years he became highly involved in his community and ended up serving three 4-year terms as a member of the Evanston City Council and three 4-year terms as Mayor. Dennis was in business for himself most of his adult life and retired from his real estate agency at the end of 2013 at the age of 81. After raising four sons and 64 years of marriage; he and his wife Sandy still live in Evanston.

A Revealing and Great Book to ReadBy JackieOther than all other books about seers and prophecies; the amount of prophecies in this book that were historically proven made by Prophet Muhammad are short of astounding. This book; in addition; shows the biblical and historical prophecies about the coming of Muhammad himself as the last Prophet; which you can read in today's bible. The Prophecies of Muhammad is an amazing page turner; especially in the last two thirds; where on almost every page there is a new prophecy that is fulfilled with amazing accuracy. The book is not just stunning in the amount and the accuracy of the prophecies of Muhammad; but also provides a unique; full picture of the overall concept of why we were born; what are we to do in our life; and what is our final outcome- a vision or a picture that I would believe would ring true with any objective Jew; Christian; and obviously any Muslim. To make a long story short; you will not be able to put it down; and I think your entire perception of your existence and purpose in this life will not be the same after you read this book.4 of 4 people found the following review helpful. Their message is one message; and that message is sent by the One and Only Creator of everything that exists. God's final messenger صلى الله عليه وسلم was sent to us over 1400 years ago; and like other prophets and messengers; he was sent with signs and miracles. Miracles onf Prophet Muhammad which still are impressive and unique.By Muhammad KhanBook is excellent for non muslims.Splitting of moon is a unique miracle which was witnessed by a Hindu ruler of his state in South India.He was one late evening walking with his wife and others in his palace on a clear night.When he saw moon splitting and then uniting again.He asked his companions ;Did yous see this and then asked them to go and find what happened.They said there is messenger of God that has been born in Arabia and this event pertains to him.Now this has been acknowledged by NASA also and the pictures of the moon show the big ridges that arose due to splitting of the moon.Sure Muhammad was messenger of God who prayed to God when the pagan Arabs of his time demanded him to let the moon split if he was a messenger.There are many many similar miracles which are beyond understanding of a normal human mind yet they happened.This confirms Muhammad was messenger and Islam was a God given religion.I recommend that Muslims should buy this book and give it to their non muslim friends and acquanitances who are intereeted in God.
