A thought-provoking; original appraisal of the meaning of religion by the host of public radio's On Being Krista Tippett; widely becoming known as the Bill Moyers of radio; is one of the country's most intelligent and insightful commentators on religion; ethics; and the human spirit. With this book; she draws on her own life story and her intimate conversations with both ordinary and famous figures; including Elie Wiesel; Karen Armstrong; and Thich Nhat Hanh; to explore complex subjects like science; love; virtue; and violence within the context of spirituality and everyday life. Her way of speaking about the mysteries of life-and of listening with care to those who endeavor to understand those mysteries--is nothing short of revolutionary.

I can say that her approach has been maligned by those readers unwilling to keep an open mind. What they don't realize is that an open mind does not necessarily mean a mind ready to be changed. As with any book of doctrine; you end up making up your own mind. That's what is needed her. She is hard to swallow; I admit that; but I always admire a fresh perspective. I plan to buy her Isis Unveiled as well; jus to gain a complete perspective. I do not belive; or believe in; Blavatsky; but she does have an interesting approach. Buy this only if you can adopt my approach. Otherwise she will only make you scoff; or angry.2 of 2 people found the following review helpful. love to read themBy LisA HI found two of her books in a rare book shop; love to read them!
