He's staggeringly brilliant which makes his books must-reads; but also book you need to read over and over again. At least for me that's the case; because as time goes by from my first reading of one of his books; I learn more and then go back to enjoy his books on a whole new level. This is one of my favorites.The Supergods is the science; and history of the gods who came down to earth to uplift mankind(seems like they've been a bit remiss lately). They taught us as best they could; in simple ways; knowing that they would have to leave one day and that we'd backslide and maybe forget everything they taught us. Not until the advent of computers can we now see what they were trying to tell us.Cottrell gives us charts of Sun-spot maximums; from 1761 to 1890; to the corresponding to the dates of epidemics. He shows us how the Sun affects bio-rhythms and how the sun causes cancer. "Janet Harker continued with her experiments on cockroaches(human stand-ins). She implanted one cockroach with two clocks; an Australian clock in addition to a British clock. The cockroach developed cancer every time the experiment was carried out; and died. This suggests that cancer is connected to the desynchronization of the body with its clock. The clock is located in the sun and the sun regulates through magnetic modulations release of hormones which in turn affect the metabolic rate of the organism." page 201Cotterell goes into great detail of why he thinks that Lord Pacal was one of the supergods. With overlays; Cotterell shows how the lid of Palenque shows all kinds of hidden messages. I can't pretend to have understood it all; but it was interesting. I have all of Cotterell's books in my library for reference; maybe someday I'll understand them all.9 of 9 people found the following review helpful. Supergods are real!By Wesley A. OrnickMaurice Cotterell is a very smart researcher; using super-computers to get star alignments and to undertake scientific anthropology and different religious accounts and belief systems to show that supergods or men with super=powers have been visited or influenced cultures at times where the counterparts were still dwindling. Jesus or his likelihood were in various cultures at the same point and time feeding and educating people in a high-tech form where nowadays religions are mixed but all have the same stories...little different based on location and current environmental states -- from healers to being reborn and using stars; animals and power to understand and explained earth's oldest mysteries. Where did the jump in technological advancements arise from? Where did the measurement systems come from used to construct or place the Pyramids when they didn't have that system -- sketches; photos and star alignments show the GODs from above the people spent their days trying to reach and match...very cool from a scientific and historical perspective...a fun and mind-opening read -- hold on tight.2 of 2 people found the following review helpful. Cotterell expose the evidence that there could have been another meaning behind the oldest constructions of past civilizations. This book is a great work.You will doubt the official human history you were told about.
