Review

I suppose it is the book they offer for sale at their gift shop. This book is an excellent summary of the battle; and makes it is especially clear how the Americans lost the battle they had been winning. You can easily read this short book in one sitting. If you are looking for a very detailed analysis; look elsewhere. But I found that for myself (a casual history buff) this book offered a lot of detail without getting boring. The maps and diagrams are excellent and plentiful. One bonus of this book is that it is typeset as if to look like an old book. I found this a lot of fun and added to the historical benefit of this book. Also there are many sidebars with biographies of the various people involved. This is a great book and I look forward to visiting the museum someday.1 of 1 people found the following review helpful. for any acquaintence of the Battle of Germantown to easily follow details and positions of battle of each of ...By sinimaniwakWell written; with numerous maps of the many locations of battle; for any acquaintence of the Battle of Germantown to easily follow details and positions of battle of each of the American regiments involved as they moved along the course of the Germantown road toward the eventual battle at Cliveden and beyond; finally ending in quick orderly retreat of the Americans; when they ran nearly out of ammunition to carry on the fight anymore. Descriptions of regimental positions are so detailed that I was able to locate the positions of my Revolutionary War ancestors involved along the course of the battle.0 of 0 people found the following review helpful. great bookBy Doug Markleygreat book
