As a young RAF pilot; Anthony Leicester's wartime service took him to Canada; the Middle East; India and Burma as well as Europe. He survived a midair collision in Canada; then; at 19; as the Captain of a Wellington II; lost an engine over the Atlas mountains during the African campaign and was faced with the agonizing choice of crash landing; bailing out or finding a safe airfield hundreds of miles away in the Sahara Desert. His memoirs provide an illuminating insight into the experiences and emotions of wartime RAF service.

Suffering; hope; love and family makes this true story a must readBy Peter BunzlThis book was a very personal one for me. I had a step father who was a holocaust survivor and lost his wife and child. My mothers family was all but wiped out during the holocaust. I found "The Tailors of Tomaszow" absolutely riveting. Rena Marguiles Chernoff endured the pain and suffering no child should ever have to experience. She suffered through it all with a loving and devoted mother by her side during their internment in concentration camps. This book is a must read for everyone. The enduring spirit of love and family; suffering and hope made this book impossible to put down.1 of 1 people found the following review helpful.
