FROM THE SILK ROAD AND TIBET; THE EPIC MEMOIR OF A BESTSELLING ADVENTUREOver the course of three decades; Sven Hedin traveled the ancient Silk Road; discovered long-lost cities; mapped previously uncharted rivers; and saw more of "the roof of the world" than any European before him. This epic memoir captures the splendor of now-vanished civilizations; the excitement of unearthing ancient monuments; the chilling terrors of snow-clogged mountain passes; and the parching agony of the desert. A worldwide bestseller in the 1920s; it today introduces a new generation to a man of exceptional daring and accomplishment. The book is illustrated with 160 of Hedin's own drawings.

The author did a great job by writing this book about the complete history of Deathcamp TreblinkaBy Ben de WitteTreblinka is Hitlers most "succesful" Deathcamp. It is estimated that about 900.000 Jews have been gassed here. The book describes the testimonies of survivors; of which at this moment (the 29th of July 2015) only Samuel Willenberg is still alive as the last survivor of the revolt on August 2 1943. The killing took place on a industrial scale. One can also read about the daily situation in this horrible Deathcamp.0 of 0 people found the following review helpful. Great Book About A Horrible Place From HellBy Steven J. LichtensteinI really wanted to rate this 1 star because I hate reading about this place from Hell! But I didn't want to screw up the rating system. Well written. Horrible place!
