After reading it; my opinion changed. The book was very informative about the Underground Railroad in Orange County. The abolitionists took great risk in helping Black men and women reach freedom. What a Page Turner!By ShannonUpon purchasing this historical work I was abt to keep it on the shelf for a week or two; (being a student of history I collect books; but rarely have a moment to read them) however; the book spoke to me from it's shelf and I had to read it. I simply could not put it down. The compilation of stories; tidbits and pictures was most interesting and I was pleasantly surprised at the depth and feeling that this work possessed. I would HIGHLY recomend this book to ANYONE who is the slightest bit interested in this secret time in our nation's history. It is one of the finest books about this period I have ever read! I was awstruck by this great mans wit and powerful intellect.This thoughtful and informative book is a MUST read for the young people because it tells the story of of Orange Counties past;Americas past and the struggle of the African Americans in the 1850 era.If you get your child one book this year;make this one it.Where can I attend another Roger King lecture?
