Traditions Encounters offers an inclusive vision of the global past―one that is meaningful and appropriate for the interdependent world of contemporary times. Given the diversity of human societies; gathering and organizing the sheer mass of information in a meaningful way is a daunting challenge for any world history survey course. The seven-part chronological organization enables students to understand the development of the world through time; while also exploring broader; big-picture thematic issues in world history. Through new and revised chapter-level and part-level features; the hallmark twin themes of traditions and encounters emerge in greater clarity than ever before in this sixth edition. As a result; students have resources that enable them to move beyond the facts of history and examine the past critically; analyze causes and effects; and recognize similarities and differences across world regions and time periods. By digging deeper into the implications of world history’s stories―not just the who; the what; and the where; but also the why and the how―students can make sense of the human past. Connect is the only integrated learning system that empowers students by continuously adapting to deliver precisely what they need; when they need it; and how they need it; so that your class time is more engaging and effective.

Secondly I purchased a used book since it was a decent amount cheaper. It was placed as "good" not as "very good" or "like new." I expected some highlighting or notes in the margin as well as a few dog eared pages or the like. Yet I just went through the entire book and aside from 3328 written on the first page this book is perfect- not 1 highlight or underline or bent page- it's like new. Oh and there was a piece of notebook paper with criminology notes on them. So Ashley Oglesby I have your criminology notes! :)2 of 2 people found the following review helpful. Western HumanitiesBy student momI had to purchase this book for a class I was taking in school. It is required reading for the class. I find this book to be extremely well put together and easy to read. It has many illustrations to cover the material discussed. It is pleasant to the eye and very informative at the same time. It is a perfect complement to the class I am taking and the material presented in the class. Would recommend it to those seeking an overview of Renaissance and Baroque art in Europe.0 of 0 people found the following review helpful. read the authors full worksBy J. RicoA compilation of bits of history; interesting although does not give a full insight into a single author the book which it introduces and leaves understanding of perspective entirely open to the professor to shape how they see fit.
