They Came In ShipsBy A CustomerThere is an unbelievable amount of information packed into this book and it is organized in a way that works for both the experienced and new genealogist. I had almost given up finding my immigrant ancestors in several lines I'm researching until I discovered this gem. By following the step by step information given here; I was able to find them all! Don't overlook the bibliography. The information in it alone is well worth the price of the book. Thank you; Dr. Colletta!0 of 0 people found the following review helpful. Superb Reference Book to Help you Track Immigrant Ancestors.By VinceThis is a great reference book for any genealogist. Colletta outlines a remarkable number of resources; many of them not-so-obvious; for tracking down your immigrant ancestors.By the way; if you have a chance to hear him speak; go. He's a superb presenter. Now that I have his book; I've got a handy way to remember all the tips tricks he shared during a seminar.0 of 0 people found the following review helpful. They Came in Ships - Finding Your Ancestors from outside USBy John ManionIt is a very detailed guide and source of lists and records of immigrants coming to the US from the 17th century to present day. He provides numerous examples and how to research them and determine if they are actual ancestors. For someone researching their genealogy back to ancestors coming into the US; it is an invaluable handbook for beginning such research.
