To Lose a Battle: France 1940

audiobook To Lose a Battle: France 1940 by Alistair Horne in History

Description

PAPERBACK - A riveting exposure in synthesis - of how the Communist mind works. Russia may be defunct; but Communism is alive and well in the United States today. This manuscript is in two parts - the first part is a "synthesis" written by an annonymous author in 1955; telling how the USSR was going to take over the United States and destroy its culture. The second part of the book is the author's point-by-point analysis of how successful Communism is in the USA; and why. Also discussed are various techniques for brainwashing; and the selective presentation of information to make people think whatever you want them to think. This book is an excellent companion to my "Lie Detection Manual".

Youll be asking yourself these questions; especially the latter; in this classic book on one of the greatest examples of political and military incompetence on the part of the allies(mostly the French); and genius and ambition on the part of the Germans. Of course; the entire thing isnt about the summer of 1940; but also the prelude to that; which minister was doing what and who was planning to attack who.0 of 0 people found the following review helpful. A Very Compelling Must Read.By CustomerIn a historical book like this; you never quite know what you are getting into. How will the author treat the subject matter? Is this going to be way over my head? How many pages can they talk about a relatively short period of history? But Instead I found this book to be a very compelling read and totally engrossed page after page. So much so; that I will be looking for the two other companion books in this trilogy. Highly recommend.0 of 0 people found the following review helpful. It makes you wonder what if a dynamic totalitairian regiem attacks Europe..By Hein FrankenThis is a gripping real life book about real people fighting because they believe they have been done wrong. The military tactic differences between motivated Germans who promote skilled officers; and the more classic 1st world war way of working of the French are superior described.It makes you wonder what id a totalitarian motivated army confronts Europe.;;
