A useful reference book of the Great WarBy danny boyDuring a time when information was difficult to obtain on the German soldiers of World War One; this was a pioneering book in that it collated and published b/w photos of the uniforms and equipment worn by the German soldiers and these are then illustrated with many examples of clothing and items. The period photos are arranged in logical sub-headings representing the various departments and branches of the German Army. However; the captions are rather brief. There are now many other similar books published on the same theme; featuring similar period photos but with additional colour plates of the clothing and equipment artefacts.0 of 0 people found the following review helpful.
