United States Navy Warships Calendar 2017: 16 Month Calendar

audiobook United States Navy Warships Calendar 2017: 16 Month Calendar by David Mann in History

Description

The Little Immigrants is a tale of compassion and courage and a vivid account of a deep and moving part of Canadian heritage. In the early years after Confederation; the rising nation needed workers that could take advantage of the abundant resources. Until the time of the Depression; 100;000 impoverished children from the British Isles were sent overseas by well-meaning philanthropists to solve the colony's farm-labour shortage. They were known as the "home children;" and they were lonely and frightened youngsters to whom a new life in Canada meant only hardship and abuse. This is an extraordinary but almost forgotten odyssey that the Calgary Herald has called; "One of the finest pieces of Canadian social history ever to be written." Kenneth Bagnell tells "an affecting tale of Dickensian pathos" (Vancouver Sun) that is "excellent ... well organized; logical; clearly written; [and] suspenseful" (The Edmonton Journal).

All the interior pictures are blurry and out of focus. In addition; there are no labels for any of the ships for each month. Do not buy this or any product from this company for that matter.3 of 3 people found the following review helpful. Cover shot is very decieving.By RichIf i could give this item a zero; I would. Extremely poor photos; Most are cropped so you can't see the bow or stern; many photos almost too dark to see; many photos very grainy or out of focus. should remove this from stock. Also; no captions for photos so you don't know what you are looking at. Many appear to be old reprint taken off the internet.3 of 3 people found the following review helpful. Don't like leaving feedbackBy Erik RolleDon't like leaving feedback; but I should have read previous feedback before purchasing. Picture quality was poor; I was too embarrassed to give as a gift.
