Stories about war and great battles have been described in the bible; history books; novels and Hollywood movies. Some focused on heroism while others described destruction; suffering; death and the dismemberment of human bodies. Less has been written about the human condition – the need for companionship and trust; the odd-ball and sometimes funny things men do in combat to relieve their fear and tension. This is the humanity the author struggled to find in Korea. One of these stories is an episode that never made it to TV’s M*A*S*H.
