West Point Atlas for the Wars of Napoleon (The West Point Military History Series)

PDF West Point Atlas for the Wars of Napoleon (The West Point Military History Series) by From Brand: West Point Military Series in History

Description

Here is an unprecendented collection of the unique art that graced military aircraft in World War II and the Korean War. Applied by amateurs or professional artists like Vargas and Brinkman; the art typically featured alluring women whose charms belied the deadly cargo the crew hoped to deliver to its targets. Hundreds of examples are shown in a combination of archival photos from the wars and current photos of artwork in museum collections. Fully captioned with aircraft type and unit assignment.

Review

The color registration is off slightly on some maps (the overprinting is a little visible). As other reviewers have noted; a history/description is needed in order to understand the maps and why the various arrows went where they did.Naval operations and operations outside of Europe are touched on; but the focus is on Europe.Update (6 Nov 2014)Just noticed that Napoleon's name was misspelled on the spine. Sloppiness there makes me wonder about other errors. They lose a star.0 of 0 people found the following review helpful. Great companion!By JB1976A MUST when reading about the Napoleonic wars. Helps the student of history visualize what is going on much better than mere words.0 of 0 people found the following review helpful. Five StarsBy M.
