However; I found the book lacking on many ancient religions and it completely disregards nature based religions in modern society. There is an entire chapter on globalization and a chapter on sects and cult like Scientology but they conveniently ignore nature based or pagan religions that have a larger following as a world religion. I suited my need for my course; but it was definitely lacking in "world" religions.7 of 7 people found the following review helpful. World Religion Class helperBy fortheloveofphilosophyThis book is a great book for World Religions. Some World Religion books tend to be dry and boring; but this one gives you what you need to know in a better way. It is still very factual; but something about it makes it easier to read than most World Religion books. It is small and affordable and pretty much hits the high points for you on World Religions in a less biased way. I enjoy reading it.0 of 0 people found the following review helpful.
